Ron chose to travel to Tijuana, Mexico as he wasn’t eligible for knee replacement back home in Canada. He had also considered Thailand and the United States, but decided to have his surgery in Mexico because of the cost difference.

Ron adds he saved almost $6,000 over the average prices charged in Thailand, and about $10,000 over what the surgery would have cost him in the United States. He was happy with his hotel room and termed it “fancy.”
